Dr. Kevin O’Neil was born in Hinesville, Georgia, and grew up in Binghamton, New York. While attending Hobart College in upstate New York, he received his B.S. in Biology (being elected to the Senior Honor Society) and started four years on the Statesman men’s basketball team.
He attended medical school at the Albany Medical College in Albany, New York and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Stamford Hospital in Stamford, Connecticut, and has been in private practice in Irving since 1997 and at MacArthur OB/GYN since 2011.
Dr. O’Neil is one of the first physicians in the U.S. to become board-certified in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery having done so in 2013. He has also been board certified in general Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1999. He also serves as a Medical Board Member of Texas Health Surgery Center of Bedford.
As a Urogynecologist Dr. O’Neil is experienced in the repair of pelvic organ prolapse, correction of urinary incontinence, and treatment of pelvic pain disorders. His surgical expertise includes minimally-invasive gynecologic surgery using laparoscopy, robotics and hysteroscopy. Dr. O’Neil is proud of being able to incorporate these technologies into his surgical practice to help him improve the care he delivers to his patients. He feels that the use of minimally invasive surgical techniques offer equal or better results and quicker recovery times compared to older procedures, which required an abdominal incision and a longer recovery time.
Since grade school, Dr. O’Neil knew he wanted to help others and the practice of medicine always called to him. Dr. O’Neil and his wife have 3 children that keep them very busy with school, basketball and other activities.
