MacArthur Medical Center is proud to participate in the Healthy Texas Women program in addition to various health insurance plans. Healthy Texas Women is a program offered by the state of Texas for family planning. Healthy Texas Women replaced a similar program called WHP or the Women’s Health Program. For qualifying participates birth control can be obtained completely free. Through this program patients may obtain their pap smears, annual exams, STD testing and contraception. Most forms of birth control are available. This includes options such as the Mirena IUD, Skyla IUD, Paragard IUD, Nexplanon, Essure, Depo-Provera, Xulane contraceptive patch, NuvaRing and birth control pills. We want women to have as many children as they want, but we also want you to be pregnant when you want to be. Healthy Texas Women helps women take control.
