Dr. Rufus Samuel is a compassionate OB/GYN who believes that every woman deserves to feel heard, respected, and supported in her healthcare journey. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, he now proudly calls Dallas home, embracing the diverse and dynamic community he serves.

His path to medicine began at the University of Georgia, where his fascination with science and human physiology grew into a lifelong commitment to women’s health. He earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine, followed by an internship at Flushing Hospital Medical Center and residency at Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women.

With a special focus on minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, Dr. Samuel specializes in robotic-assisted procedures, GelPOINT, and V-NOTES, offering advanced treatment options for conditions like endometriosis and fibroids. His experience in surgical site infections and wound care reflects his meticulous approach to patient care, which he credits to his mother, a dedicated wound care nurse.

Dr. Samuel is dedicated to creating a safe, supportive environment where patients feel comfortable discussing their health concerns. His goal is simple: to listen, to advocate, and to provide expert, compassionate care at every stage of life. Beyond the procedures and diagnoses, Dr. Samuel wants every patient to know they are not just another appointment on his schedule; they are people with stories, concerns, and dreams for their health and future.

“If I can help a patient feel heard, cared for, and at ease in their health journey, then I know I’ve done my job.” – Dr. Samuel
Throughout his career, Dr. Samuel has been honored with multiple awards, including the Resident Research Award, multiple Resident GEM Awards in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility, and Gynecologic Oncology, as well as AAGL recognition for excellence in minimally invasive gynecology.

Outside of the office, he enjoys baking and experimenting with new recipes, unwinding with a great Netflix binge, and engaging in friendly competition, whether it’s a game of pickup basketball, board games, or table tennis. And when football season rolls around, you’ll find him cheering on his Georgia Bulldogs. Go Dawgs!

Dr. Samuel is honored to be part of the MacArthur Medical Center family. He is dedicated to helping women feel empowered, confident, and cared for in their healthcare journey.
